Magic Act

Magic Act

our lips meet
without sparks
your aura’s glow
has dimmed

as tongues intertwine
searching for familiarity
what was once sweet
is now tasteless

my expectation
of our long standing
magic act has lost
its luster

what was once fit
for happy children
is a mere mirage
of what coulda been
